Dermot McCourt (www.hoofsculpture.com) and his son John, together with my farrier Paddy Jr Van Raepenbusch came to see how Baby was doing today and to carry out some further treatment in our endeavour to make her comfortable. This is a picture of Baby today 2nd February 2010 ![]()

Notice the difference in hter stance! It is now 4 weeks since Dermot McCourt came to see if he could help Baby to recover from what seemed a impossible pathological condition. (Previous treatment 7th January 2010) Baby has been making slow progress, but progress nonetheless. I had noticed over the last couple of days that she has been placing her right foot down differently. In fact she has been placing it heel first and sliding. I emailed Dermot and he decided to come down to attend to her straight away. Whilst the first trim was an effort to just save her life, today's trim was and effort to set or to start to set her hoof structure in place, ie the pedal bone. Dermot explained we have to stop thinking hoof and start thinking pedal bone!! After discussing her present condition and progress in the last 4 weeks Dermot, John and Paddy agreed on a game plan. More to follow.... |
