Bute v Herbal Substitute
Saturday, 08 August 2009
I have always been one to try using natural remedies over chemical solutions when treating the horses for any ailments they might be experiencing. I always thought I was safe using herbal/natural remedies and couldn't do any harm or at least do less harm using herbs or natural remedies. How wrong I was!!
Bitless Rope Bosal Bridle
Friday, 17 July 2009

I have been using this rope Bosal Bridle for the last three weeks and I have come to the conclusion that it is the best bitless bridle I have used so far.

I have been riding bitless for the past five years and have used a few different bitless bridles, some well known and some not so well known. Always looking for one that is the works for commumicationand is comfortable for my horses.

Two things I like about this bridle:

  1. Quick release
  2. Cost effective!

Teamed up with a set up a set of rope reins it is a great bit of tack.

My horse love them and so do I. They are so comfortable but at the same time the horses are very responsive when they are wearing them.

I like these bridles so much that I am sellng these in shop section.

Friday, 17 July 2009

As Shane and Meredith Ransley's (founders of Quantum Savvy) visit to Ireland quickly approaches, I thought I would publish a little about 'What is Quantum Savvy?':

What is Quantum Savvy?

Quantum Savvy is a fantastic educational programme that teaches students from all around the world, all about horses and horsemanship.

Based on working with the horse's natural instincts and looking at things from the their point of view, the Quantum Savvy Horsemanship programme is founded around 3 key principles:

  1. Horses should have options
  2. Horses learn by when comfort is offered
  3. Success is found by following a repeatable programme
Grand Canyon Mule Ride
Wednesday, 27 May 2009
On 16th May a group of ten youngsters (between 49 and 66 years old!) from our village travelled to the US for an activity holiday based around Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. The main activity of the holiday was a 2 day mule ride up and down the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. This is the view between the ears of my mule Tici at the start of the journey down to the bottom of the Canyon tisi1.jpg

Fun with a Western Saddle
Tuesday, 17 March 2009

Have been thinking for a while that it might be nice to try a western saddle. I was talking to someone the other day who rides western and they described it as really good fun. So I took the plunge and ordered a couple of western saddles to try out with my guys.
