Learning a Foreign Language
Wednesday, 18 January 2012

After trying and succeeding to a small degree to learn the language of Equus for over 10 years I have come to the following conclusion.

The spoken word and the unspoken word, communicating by body language only, (that of the animals without words as we know it) ARE and ALWAYS WILL BE worlds apart.

If we moved to a foreign country we would have no choice but the take the time it takes to learn the native tongue if we wanted to live a full life & prosper in this foreign country. Or we could just poodle along and learn only a few neccessary phrases to just get by. The same should and sometimes does apply in the horse world or the world we would like to live in with our horses!

Aciclovir for treating sarcoids
Thursday, 17 November 2011

I came across this very interesting article which I thought I would share with you. I have started treatment on my mare Polly who has had sarcoids on her udders for the past 4 years. We have "managed" them using initially Thuja cream and then with some success, Crest Toothpaste. They didn't grow but at the same time they didn't shrink too much. Since starting treatment with Aciclovir a few weeks ago the sarcoids have shrunk by appx 25%

Safe Journey my Angel

Three years ago we made a pact,

If life got too much you would act,

To show me your decision made.

That time came two days ago,

I offered you food but you said no,

The time had come for you to leave.

We wanted to keep you but it was not to be,

So we all kissed you goodbye,

And gave you love for the journey.

RIP Baby 15/09/2011

A kinder soul I never knew. Safe journey my angel

The Difference a Year Makes
Sunday, 14 November 2010

Due to the inclement weather the last couple of weeks I decided it might be time for Baby to start wearing her rugs. I was well prepared this year and bought her some (4) decent rugs when they were well priced during the summer. BUT they don't fit here this year. During the Equine Touch course, Heather, the instructor commented on how Baby now had muscle development around her chest and shoulders.
